Job Description:
Must be detail oriented and demonstrate scientific leadership in sequence analysis, microarray analysis and experience with analysis of large genomic data sets including integration with data available from public sources. Hands on experience and involvement so competency is maintained in processing and analyzing genomic, expression and other array data. Hands on experience and competency is maintained with commercial and open source bioinformatics and genomics analysis software. Must maintain excellent scientific communication, teamwork and customer relationship skills. Collaborate with and take direction from the medical director of the area. Master’s degree required PhD or MD preferred from an accredited college/university in bioinformatics, biostatics or a related field. A minimum of three (3) years of related experience in bioinformatics is required. Experience as a collaborating statistician on a variety of study designs. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation). Experience in Randomized clinical trial preferred. Proficiency in Unix (linux), scripting, and programming are very desirable such as knowledge of at least one programming language (C++, Perl, html, etc.) Preferred experience: Hands-on experience in processing and analyzing large datasets, excellent computer skills, communication and teamwork. Hands-on experience with commercial and open-source bioinformatics and genomics analysis tools and software is a plus. Ideal candidate will have working knowledge of machine learning and natural language algorithms, working/developing databases.
