The Transcriptome Analysis Laboratory in Göttingen offers an open position for a Bioinformatician (f/m) Candidates should have a strong background in bioinformatics, computational biology or biostatistics initially limited to 2 years with possibility of permanent position | full time (38,5h/week) | salary according to TV-L The University Medical Center Göttingen is a tertiary care center and offers great development potential. The team of the Transcriptome Analysis Laboratory (TAL) in Göttingen offers an open position for a bioinformatician (m/f). The TAL is a Core Facility at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) and provides flexible high throughput genomic services, deep sequencing (NGS), microarray and Nanostring solutions including experimental know-how and data analysis. The successful candidate will work within a team in a multidisciplinary environment. The work will focus on the development and application of workflows for the integrative analyses of various genome-wide datasets derived from massively parallel sequencing (RNA-seq, small RNA-seq, whole-genome-seq, ChIP-seq, MeDIP-seq, etc) and microarrays. Further tasks include guidance of partners and clients with design of experiments and interpretation of analysis results. Candidates should have a strong background in bioinformatics, computational biology or biostatistics, be looking for a collaborative and dynamic environment, and have a proven track record of productivity. Competent handling of the Linux operating system and programming skills in R/BioConductor are strongly desired. A PhD or prior experience manipulating NGS datasets is an asset but not a requirement. Good command of German and English language are vital for collaboration with our clients and partners. The position is initially limited to two years with the possibility of permanent position after this period. The salary will be established according to institutional guidelines.
