Job Description:
DFG-funded Research Unit (Forschergruppe) 2599 “Tissue Type 2 Immunity“ offers an attractive position for a Bioinformatician / Postdoc (f/m).

The position is initially for 3 years with the option of an extension for another 3 years.

The objectives of Research Unit 2599, which is composed of 10 strong groups scattered all over Germany, is to identify rules determining induction and regulation of innate type 2 (i.e. IL4/13-dominated) responses in healthy tissues, in damaged or wounded tissue, or upon helminth infection. Thereby, we aim to understand mechanisms underlying allergic, metabolic or fibrotic disease resulting from overshooting or too faint innate type 2 responses of tissues. Our long-term aim is to find strategies for modulation of tissue responses to therapeutically exploit beneficial while avoiding harmful type 2 effects. In the setting of central project „Single cell transcriptional profiling and bioinformatics”, we will investigate pathways of macrophage differentiation by large-scale droplet-based RNA seq technology.

The position will offer great opportunity for career development in immunology/life science.
