Job Description:
We seek to recruit a computational infectious disease researcher to complement research strengths at UGA in informatics and infectious diseases. We aim to hire an individual with a strong record of innovation and ability to develop and apply new computational tools (simulations, data mining, data integration and visualization, among others) to infectious diseases (host-pathogen biology, personalized medicine, microbiome, drug or vaccine candidate development, among others). The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of assistant or associate professor depending on credentials and accomplishments. This is an interdisciplinary position, with the appointment being split between the Department of Infectious diseases and the Institute of Bioinformatics. The position includes a competitive salary, sufficient laboratory space and a generous start-up package.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D., MD, DVM or equivalent degree in a computational, biomedical or biological science and have two or more years of postdoctoral training. Teaching responsibilities will be in our developing undergraduate and graduate programs.
