Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated scientist to join our Bioinformatics team. The Bioinformatics Scientist will be responsible for technical development of improved and novel methods, analyses, algorithms for AccuraGen’s products and studies. The Scientist must be passionate about innovating new applications of next generation sequencing and driving novel discoveries to enable next generation of diagnostic testing. The ideal candidate would be experienced with large data analysis, use statistical and machine-learning methods to uncover hidden patterns in the data, and creatively solve problems.

  • Work on complex problems and big data in which analysis of data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors and applying statistical modeling or machine learning methods.
  • Analyze NGS datasets, uncover hidden patterns in the data, and help the assay team to improve the assay
  • Participate in the product development activities, prototyping, testing, implementing, and optimizing existing product features.
  • Collaborate with R&D experimental scientists to develop novel cutting-edge genomics products.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND:
  • Ph.D. or Masters in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Biological Sciences, Genetics, Genomics, or related field is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of NGS assays and data, experienced with NGS data analysis and statistical modeling.
  • Analyzed big data using machine learning or statistical modeling methods.
  • Demonstrated good coding skill in at least one language (Perl, Python, R, etc.), proficiency in Linux environment.
  • Enthusiastic to work as part of cross disciplinary R&D team.
