Job Description:
The bioinformatics scientist will work as a member of Diversigen’s growing Data Analytics team and contribute to microbiome-focused NGS analysis efforts. The Bioinformatics scientist will contribute to the development of automated sequence analysis workflows, develop custom solutions for genomic, metagenomic, and metatranscriptomic sequence analysis and data visualization, and contribute to the evaluation and testing of new software packages and algorithms.
Additional Info:
Masters (minimum, PhD preferred) in Bioinformatics/Computer Science/Statistics/Life Sciences or a related field. Demonstrated experience in NGS analysis and bioinformatics software development. Experience with pipeline development and maintenance; Familiarity with publicly-available tools, algorithms, and databases related to microbiome and microbial genome analysis. Adept in using command line tools in a Linux shell environment; preferred experience working in cloud-based compute environments.
