Job Description:
The Neurodevelopmental Disorders Program at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) is looking for a full-time programmer with a strong background in web and database development. The candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining a web-based database used to collect clinical and genetic data from research study subjects.

-The successful applicant will work as part of a project involving clinical and genetic researchers working on neurodevelopmental disorders with a large focus on epilepsy.

-S/he will be responsible for developing, testing, improving and maintaining new and existing databases to help users retrieve data effectively.

Education

What you will bring:

-M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science or a related field with excellent quantitative skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative environment.

Experience & Qualifications:

Advanced experience in several of the following areas:

-Proven work experience as a Database developer

-Hands on experience with SQL

-Familiarity working with PHP, JavaScript, HTML and relational databases such as MySQL/MariaDB and/or Postgres

-Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications

-Linux/Unix operating systems and high-performance computing clusters.

-Prior experience with RedCap is an asset.

-Statistical packages (e.g. R, Matlab).

-Ability to complete tasks efficiently and independently.

-Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

-Excellent communication and writing skills.

-Ability to work well with others.

-The candidate will preferably have at least two years of work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

-The applicant should have a strong database development background, and prior experience with clinical databases is preferable.
