We are seeking a highly motivated DevOps professional to join our team of informatics and software experts. Responsibilities: Develop, deploy, monitor, maintain, and support both on-premise and cloud-based compute and storage infrastructure for internal bioinformatics pipelines and SaaS products in Genomics:
- Work closely with the development team to operationalize solutions.
- Ensure infrastructure meets security and other policies.
- React quickly to issues to keep services running 24/7.
- Perform day-to-day system administration and maintenance tasks.
- Research, recommend, develop, and deploy improvements in a proactive manner.
- Maintain and improve continuous integration of the developed software.
- Work closely with Agilent Enterprise IT on tools, policies, and practices.
- Develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Represent Genomics in security audits.
- Bachelor or Master Degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of cloud-computing, e.g., OpenStack or AWS; information and risk management principles across geographies; high performance computing; automation of system administration tasks, continuous integration setup.
- Administration of Debian, RHEL, CoreOS, and Amazon Linux
- Vim, Git, SSH, and Linux shell
- Scripting with Bash, Perl, and Python
- AWS EC2, VPC, and S3
- Atlassian tools
- Configuration Management: Ansible or equivalent
- Network Apps: IPMI, PXE boot, DHCP, iptables, DNS, PKI, NGINX
- File Storage: EXT3, XFS, ZFS, NFS, Samba
- Process Management: Systemd, Docker, Slurm, SGE, PBS
- Auth: LDAP, Active Directory
- Databases: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle DB, MySQL, ElasticSearch
- AWS IAM, Glacier, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, ECS, Route53
