The Principal Bioinformatics Scientist will be driving collaborations in drug discovery or translational research. You will report into and work closely with the Head of PMA to develop algorithms and interpret patient profiles of cancer-related multi-omics samples, population studies, longitudinal analysis, and pathway-based analysis to inform discovery and translational researchers about potential novel targets, therapies, biomarkers and intervention points during the course of cancer treatment. Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will have bioinformatics experience spanning 5+ years. You will have worked in a research environment focusing on human genetics, and/or transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, systems biology, tumor epidemiology. The candidate must be passionate about working with multidisciplinary teams and collaborations, and thrive in a “startup-like” environment. Top 3 skill sets / technologies in the ideal candidate: 1. Deep knowledge of bioinformatics algorithms and omics research. 2. Outstanding oral and written skills. 3. Ability to work with internals team and have credibility with external subject matter experts. Detailed Description and Job Requirements: Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement. Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers. Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years relevant work experience. BS/BA preferred.

A core goal of the OCRC initiative is to create a major inflection point in medical research, diagnosis, and treatment.
