Job Description:
In our team, you will focus on target discovery through network biology and integration of high-throughput datasets, both genomic and phenotypic. You’ll also lead the Bioinformatics contribution to external industry and academic collaborations, ensuring that EMD Serono is a valued scientific partner and that we maximize the utility to our programs.

We’re looking for candidates with a strong background designing and applying computational methods to solve problems in high-throughput biology and drug discovery, in either academic or industry settings. You must have successfully worked in collaborations that span research groups and institutions. You should have experience in all aspects of computational projects- data management and processing pipelines, algorithms, interpretation with biologists, and presentation/publication.

Our ideal new team member will have:

-a PhD in a relevant field (computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, bioengineering) and 5-8 years experience (industry or post-PhD academic).

-demonstrated expertise in biological network construction and analysis as well as the integration of multiple datatypes.

-experience with a variety of computational biology techniques, software packages, and algorithms, especially for large ‘omics datasets (genomics, expression data, proteomics, phenotypic screens, and perhaps metabolomics).

-strong programming (eg, R, python), database, and software engineering skills for building computational infrastructure rather than a series of one-off analyses.

-experience with numerous databases (eg, SRA, GEO, MsigDB, MetaBase) and datasets (eg, TCGA, GTEx, ImmGen).

-successfully managed, or participated in as a key member, several collaborative efforts involving complex analyses.

-a strong publication record illustrating their above experiences.
