The Clinical Pharmacology and Computational Biology team for a clinical-stage biotechnology company is seeking a contract R Shiny App Developer to apply quantitative approaches to explore dosing regimens of novel drug candidates. Duration: 4-6 Months This position is able to work a flexible schedule and remotely; however, they will need to be near or in San Diego so that they can be on site one day per month to interface with the Manager. Schedule is flexible, the right candidate can work remote, however, will be required to come into the office occasionally to touch base with the team (one day per month is expected); for this reason local candidates are needed. The candidate will develop R-based models and R Shiny-based tools to enhance application of modeling and simulation in drug development decision making. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop R Shiny Platforms for interactive pharmacokinetic and drug delivery applications
- Implement existing and new models in R shiny web framework
- Document technical details of the work to facilitate collaboration with other teams
- Enable communication of quantitative modeling results across cross-functional teams of clinicians, scientists and business development
- Create dynamic data visualizations within R shiny web-based dashboard
- Internal presentation of project results
- Participation in scientific research discussions and meetings
- Other duties as assigned
- Candidates must have hands-on experience in R (1+ years) and experience with Shiny is HIGHLY preferred
- Previous experience with coding and user interface design and development preferred
- Experience in other modeling and simulation/programming software such as Matlab, SAS etc. is a plus
- Relevant experience/knowledge of pharmacology, mathematics, pharmaceutical/biotechnology sciences and user-interface design and development preferred
- Ability to work independently and within a team setting
- Scientific curiosity to integrate disciplines of technology, research and healthcare is a plus
- Minimum of B.S or M.S. in computer science, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, chemical engineering or a related discipline (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)
