Job Description:
The Division of Clinical Pharmacology in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah School of Medicine, has an immediate opening for a Research Analyst. The Research Analyst is responsible for assisting with design and management of research projects within the area of active research of the Principal Investigator/Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately compile data from a variety of sources, including but not limited to paper, electronic and human subjects. Perform essential data quality control functions, such as source verification, organizing, cleaning and validation. May travel to a variety of sites within and outside the University campus to obtain data.

• Perform statistical data analysis for various pharmacology studies.

• Prepare data for pharmacometric (PK/PD) modeling and simple analysis.

• Assist in preparation of manuscripts to be submitted for publication and presentation materials, such as abstracts and slides to be presented nationally and internationally. Edit research papers, project reports and publication materials.

• Effectively communicate with all involved parties, nationally and internationally, pertaining to research projects, resolving queries and responding to requests.

• Maintain all files and records of research data in accordance with Human Subject Protection laws, other Federal and State laws, and University Policy.

Problem Solving:

Incumbents are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of their assigned duties.

Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment is crucial. Ability to deliver within the established timelines is essential to this job.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field, or equivalency, plus two years of related experience. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. A valid Utah Driver’s License may be required in certain departments.

Preferences:

• Bachelor’s degree in the field of Pharmacology or Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Bioinformatics or Statistics. Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) from an accredited institution in a related field strongly preferred.

• Experience with statistical software programs, such as Graphpad Prism, R, SAS or SPLUS strongly preferred.

• Experience with pharmacometric software programs, such as Phoenix/WinNonLin and ability to perform simple PK and PD analysis preferred.
