Job Description:
T1D Exchange is growing, and we have created an additional opportunity for a highly skilled Research Analyst to join our team. The Research Analyst’s primary role is to provide statistical and analytical expertise to support and advance the mission of the organization to improve outcomes for people living with Type 1 Diabetes.

The Research Analyst will work closely with the Research, Quality Improvement and Biobank Teams, sponsors and internal stakeholders to design and implement statistical analyses for observational and interventional research, as well as to help establish best practices for data management and data analysis strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop statistical analysis plans for research studies and analyze data using industry-standard statistical tools
  • Review research data to summarize population demographics, identify trends within and across studies and extrapolate other statistical inferences
  • Draft, edit, and present data analysis reports:
    • Provide exemplary tabular and graphic summaries of analyses for presentations at scientific meetings and in manuscript-ready formats for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • Establish best practices for data management and review published works to produce world-class research methods and scientific reporting
  • Maintain working knowledge of recent best practices of statistical techniques and federal and state regulations
  • Perform other duties as required.
Basic Qualifications:
  • A Master’s degree or higher in statistics, bioinformatics, biology, psychology, sociology or social sciences
  • Five years of work experience in a similar role; less experience will be considered in conjunction with higher degree
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative analysis methods, such as t-tests, chi-squared, ANOVA, and structural equational modeling
  • Experience working with survey design, data collection and dissemination, and creating research study design (e.g. statistical analysis plans)
  • Proficient in summarizing results and conclusions for scientific presentations/manuscripts with the ability to translate and present complex analyses into key points for presentation to a variety of audiences
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office programs and advanced statistics programs such as SPSS for data manipulation and statistical analysis
  • Observational and interventional research study experience preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience handling confidential information and familiarity with privacy/HIPAA requirements
  • Knowledge of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process and documentation
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the capacity to elicit useful information and ask relevant follow-up questions
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accurate results; works with passion, integrity, and energy
  • Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting, working in a cross-functional environment serving diverse populations
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills with the ability to work independently as a part of a team.
  • Knowledge and research in diabetes preferred
  • Ability to travel within the US 1 -3 times per year.
