Job Description:
The Marine Biological Laboratory is seeking applicants for a full-time Research Assistant position with the Josephine Bay Paul Center. The successful applicant will contribute to projects that will explore diversity of microbes in various communities and the influence of changing environments on microbial population structures.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the preparation and massively high-throughput next-generation sequencing of marker gene and metagenomic libraries from marine microbial populations and computational analysis of such datasets.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree with training in molecular biology and bioinformatics. Will ideally have several years of laboratory experience. Candidate is expected to be familiar with modern nucleic acid sequencing and analysis technologies, including library construction and operation of capillary sequencers and robotics platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

Facility with unix, python, and R desirable.
