Job Description:
The Division of Genetic Epidemiology in the Department of Epidemiology (http://epidemiology.phhp.ufl.edu/) in the College of Public Health and Health Professions and College of Medicine invites applications for a Research Assistant Scientist to work in genetic epidemiology, bioinformatics, and computational biology. Candidates have opportunities to work on high-dimensional multi-omics datasets including genetics (e.g., GWAS, WGS, NGS), epigenetics (methylation, microRNA, ChIP-seq), transcriptomics (RNA-seq), metabolomics, and proteomics for human complex disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, major depression, obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. The Department provides an outstanding environment for interdisciplinary, cutting-edge scientific research, career development and interactions with other units that perform basic, translational and clinical research. Advertised Salary: Salary is negotiable; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An appropriate doctoral level degree in epidemiology, quantitative genetics, bioinformatics or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong computational skills or experience working with high-dimensional omics datasets needed.
  • Prefer candidate who has publications in genetic epidemiology arena.
