This Scientist role is part of our Laboratory Operations team and is responsible for transferring technologies from R&D to production, and optimizing, validating, monitoring and troubleshooting assays. This Scientist role is part of our Laboratory Operations team and is responsible for transferring technologies from R&D to production, and optimizing, validating, monitoring and troubleshooting assays. What you'll do:
- Development Testing: work closely with our automation group to transfer technology to a production environment
- Method validation: design analytical validation studies for clinical assays developed by R&D
- Production Assay Monitoring: help build out a responsive laboratory troubleshooting team
- Process Optimization: develop new assay chemistries with the goal of minimizing cost and turnaround time while maintaining accuracy
- You have a PhD in Molecular Biology, Computational Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering (or similar field), and/or significant independent bench experience as demonstrated by publications or prior employment
- You are quantitative-minded and know your way around a computer
- Actual programming experience and/or training in statistics is highly preferred
- You are familiar with next-gen sequencing protocols and operation of Illumina or Ion Torrent instruments, preferred
- Most importantly, you do not rest until you’ve optimized your experiments, and want to see them used in the clinical care of millions of patients
