Job Description:
We are seeking an innovative, collaborative and enthusiastic scientist to work on a variety of computational biology and genomics projects centered on target identification and drug discovery. The individual will work on internal and external datasets, including next generation sequencing data and phenotypic screening data, and will develop tools and analysis strategies to generate focused hypotheses for target identification/validation and drug discovery. A critical component of the job will be the close collaboration with internal drug discovery teams and external investigators.

Responsibilities:

-Creatively collaborate in a team setting to develop a platform for genomics-based target discovery

-Apply or develop new tools or data-mining techniques for integrative analysis and visualization of multi-dimensional datasets for target discovery

-Integrate biochemical, cellular and genomic data using appropriate statistical methods to impact drug discovery projects by helping refine the patient population and responder hypotheses

Qualifications:

-This position requires a PhD in Bioinformatics, Biology, Genetics or equivalent.

-A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in bioinformatics or computational biology in an academic or professional setting

-A solid understanding of bioinformatics databases and software

-A solid understanding of biological processes

-Strong scientific background and proven high levels of performance, as evidenced by a strong publication record

-Interest and/or demonstrated experience in translating the needs and solutions developed in the course of addressing specific analysis problems into broadly applicable and useful informatics capabilities

-Ability to work with internal and external collaborators to funnel emerging genomics discoveries to guide internal programs

-Ability to self-direct and self-motivate

-Experience with oncology, genetic diseases or immunology is a plus

-Experience with R and Python is desirable
