Job Description:
Molecular Profiling and Bioinformatics (MPB) team within Product Science group of Cell Therapy Development Department has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated experienced bioinformatics scientist to join our team. MPB group carries responsibility to identify, develop and implement molecular profiling methods, bioinformatics approaches and data management to enable CQA definition and product characterization. The candidate will be responsible for performing analysis for large scale data sets from different platforms and applications and will develop analysis pipeline for performing such analyses.

PREREQUISITES

PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or Biological Sciences with strong quantitative background with at least 6 years of experience, or Master’s degree with at least 12 years of experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently conceive, execute, and communicate bioinformatics analysis that support characterizing properties of cell therapy product from candidate nomination through commercial registration - both from the internal Celgene pipeline and from third party collaborations.
  • Develop analysis pipelines for various data sets generated from different platforms and applications from in-house or internal/external collaborators
  • Collaborate with I/O TCoE, RIKU and Translational Development group to advance Celgene cellular immunotherapy and CTD
Qualification and experience:
  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or Biological Sciences with strong quantitative background with at least 6 years of experience, or Master’s degree with at least 12 years of experience preferred.
  • The ideal candidates will have solid background in bioinformatics and statistics with strong coding skills in R and an additional programming language such as Perl or Python
  • Proficient with full stack bioinformatics knowledge, tools, and online databases (open source software and R packages) related to data analysis such as gene expression, methylation profiling, network/module analysis, pathway identification, variants calling, copy number variation identification, structural variants identification, single cell analysis and etc
  • Hands on experience with using bioinformatics and statistics tools to perform analysis for large scale, multi-dimensional data from different platforms and applications such as genomics, genetics and epigentics analyses using Next-Gen sequencing or array type platforms (RNA-Seq, Exome-Seq, ChIP-Seq, ATAC-Seq and etc), proteomics data (Mass-Spec or protein arrays), single cell data (single cell RNA-Seq or CyTOF)
  • Candidates must be able to effectively interpret the analysis results within biological context to your peers with different backgrounds
