Twist Bioscience is currently seeking a Senior Front-End Software Engineer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX designers and bridge the gap between graphic design, UX design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.
As the first member of our front-end team you bring expert knowledge of current web technologies. We expect you to be a key contributor to the technical architecture from the onset, own key framework components and work closely with the rest of the team to deliver the initial product.
The ideal candidate would possess expert knowledge of current web technologies, and s/he has a proven track record of working with a team building complex applications. Qualifications
Required Technical Skills:
5+ years of focused front-end web UI development
Expert-level command of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
Extensive prior work experience with React.js, Backbone.js, ExtJS, AngularJS, jQuery, Prototype
Current knowledge of web technologies and developing trends in relevant fields and emerging standards
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
3+ years of experience developing web UI against RESTful web services
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Required Soft Skills:
Energetic and motivated self-starter
Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced start-up environment
Strong attention to detail and focus
Work well with others
Intellectual curiosity and honesty
Additional Desired Skills:
Experience in building mobile apps for iOS and/or Android
Experience working in life-science organizations (biotech, pharma, genomics, bioinformatics)
Good understanding of Agile Methodologies
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
