Job Role: Research Scientist
Data and Software Infrastructure Manager to join the Protein Data Bank in Europe team at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) located on the Wellcome Genome Campus near Cambridge in the UK. [More]
EMBL is seeking a highly motivated (bio)informatician to work in the Genome Biology Computational Support (GBCS) group. The position involves the maintenance and development of emBASE, an EMBL-wide web-based application dedicated to the management of *omics data (in particular NGS data) produced by the different EMBL groups. The successful applicant will also maintain tools and scientific libraries on unix-based servers, develop analysis pipeline in Galaxy and/or using workflow management systems (e.g. snakemake), and help managing our Galaxy server. Ideally, the candidate is able to conduct data analysis (in particular NGS data using e.g. R/bioconductor) and has some experience with docker and cloud-based technologies. The successful applicant is in charge of supporting users on a daily basis, assembling training materials (e.g. writing of wiki-based documentation/how-to) and organizing tutorials [More]
Looking to recruit and experienced and talented full-stack web developer to join the Ensembl Genomes Team at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL_EBI) located on the Wellcome Genome Campus near Cambridge in the UK. [More]
Bioinformatician to work on developing new search and web interfaces for genetic variation resources. The applicant can expect, if appointed, to work on integrating Elasticsearch/Solr search technologies with existing Ensembl web components for data visualisation, and developing novel data visualisation tools for sample and variation data. The post-holder will also contribute to Ensembl Metazoa, the EBI's own portal for providing public access to genomic data from vector and non-vector species, and will work as part of a group of closely collaborating teams using the Ensembl platform for a wide variety of species from across the taxonomic space. Highly motivated bio-informatician to join the 10-person PC-B team and contribute to fulfilling the research objectives of this centre with a focus on the development, implementation and application of computational approaches for metabolic phenotyping. The position will be primarily to develop and implement a data processing pipeline, include the experimental design, pre-processing, and statistical analysis of large scale LC-MS based metabolomics studies; collaboration with researchers within and external to the university (academic, industry, scientific instrument manufacturers); and providing training and support in bioinformatics. Lab Data Programmer to join the SCHARP Laboratory Data Operations (LDO) group. [More]
The Bioinformatician will independently determine programmatic approaches to problems, and develop computational tools and software programs that are computationally efficient, effective, and well documented for public release. He/She will apply these tools to large datasets to generate novel biological insights and will communicate results to collaborators via conference calls and lab meetings. He/She will also be expected to contribute to manuscript preparation and to give presentation at both national international meetings. [More]
Applications are invited for a post as a Career Development Fellow in Bioinformatics to join researchers working in the Oxford Parkinson’s Disease Centre, working to understand the neurobiology of Parkinson’s disease. You will analyse expression profiles generated from iPSC lines to identify and characterise the perturbed molecular networks underlying PD and related neurodegenerative disorders. The postholder will guide studies both to explore and treat cellular models of neurodegeneration. You will be encouraged to explore the links between the model molecular perturbations and the wealth of patient genomic and phenotypic data available within the OPDC and beyond. [More]
A position is currently available in our group for a post-doctoral researcher, with experience of bioinformatics, genomics data analysis and programming. [More]
