This vital role will perform bioinformatics analysis of next generation sequencing data for an antibody discovery platform. The professional will develop new methods for analysis of complex data sets, interpret results, writes reports, and present results to customers and senior management. This challenging and rewarding position requires working effectively as part of a fast-paced, dedicated team of life science professionals. Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform basic and advanced analysis on next-generation sequencing data.
- Work closely with experimental researchers to perform custom analysis and provide analysis reports.
- Develop, improve, modify, and operate data analysis pipelines.
- Develop new software tools and write code for specific analyses.
- Perform data analysis, interpret results, write reports, and present results and project assessments to customers and senior management.
- Interface with various departments and serve as internal consultant.
- Contribute to scientific literature and conferences.
- Work independently to accomplish goals within target timeframes.
- Master’s degree in computer science, computational biology, or bioinformatics
- 3 years’ experience in computational biology or bioinformatics
- Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics or other quantitative field
- Knowledge of molecular biology and genomics and proficiency in the acquisition and analysis of high throughput sequencing data
- Experience writing and applying analysis scripts using Perl programming (other programming experience, ie. Python, Java, a plus)
- Demonstrated ability to apply and troubleshoot computational tools and workflows
- Experience in web application development, preferably in Ruby on Rail based application development
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- M.Sc. or higher Degree in Bioinformatics
