Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated Genomic Data science Programmer to join our team. The individual will:

  • Develop/Implement novel bioinformatics software;
  • Develop and implement algorithms for large scale genomic analyses on a distributed computing framework;
  • Develop methods of abstracting genomic data in a Spark environment;
  • Implement algorithms and statistical tests for genomic data (Principal Components Analysis, Logistic and linear Regression etc);
  • Develop tools for managing storage (S3) and deploying on-demand computing (Ec2/Spark) environments on the cloud;
  • Assess and optimize costs and utilization.

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.

Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant
  • Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant:
  • Solid knowhow in algorithms and data structure;
  • Solid Object Oriented programming skills in Java/Python/Scala and experience in NIX environments;
  • Experience designing/developing cloud based applications ? Experience in Docker, Spark, BigQuery/RedShift etc. is a plus;
  • Strong understanding of software engineering concepts and the full software development cycle;
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, desire and ability to work effectively within a team, including strong organization and communication skills;
  • Willingness and initiative to seek out and learn novel tools, methods, and technologies within a quickly evolving field;
