Job Description:
We’re seeking a talented Bioinformatics Scientist to collaborate with experimentalists and software engineers on computational analyses and method development and validation that enable the creation of genome-scale IVDs that will impact patients through personalized medicine. You should enjoy working with others, using existing bioinformatics methods and developing new workflows for analyzing microarray and next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, and have a strong desire to pursue creative solutions to challenging problems in an interdisciplinary and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: -Work with experimentalists in the design and analysis of studies that will optimize molecular workflows and validate test performance. Develop and modify bioinformatics methods to analyze genome-scale data, including microarrays and cutting edge NGS platforms, across a range of applications. -Validate and test analysis algorithms for effects on interpretation of diagnostic results. -Document methods and studies to enable the deployment of IVD tests in a regulated environment -Work proactively with biologists to address problems relevant to hypothesis testing and biomarker validation in a range of biological contexts with a focus on human genetics. Experience: -Advanced degree in biostatistics/statistics, or a related discipline (Ph.D. or M.S.) -Strong skills in R and Python are essential. -Expertise in Affymetrix microarray analysis, including normalization methods and hypothesis testing. -Solid statistical foundation, including background in probability theory and experimental design and analysis. -Experience analyzing sequence, genotyping, or expression data. -Previous experience with large-scale NGS data analysis and usage of version control in a compute cluster environment preferred.
