Job Description:
The Jaffe Lab at the Lieber Institute for Brain Development (LIBD) is recruiting a Data Scientist in who has previous experience working with big data in biomedical sciences. This position primarily involves developing and performing algorithms for data processing and analyses within cellular imaging datasets. Other tasks involve analyzing ongoing large-scale genomics, clinical genetics, neuroimaging, and stem cell biology at the Lieber Institute. The successful candidate will work closely with researchers at LIBD in designing experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the writing of manuscripts and grants. The scientist will be committed to a common mission, a team effort, and collaborations across academia and industry.

Professional/Education Qualifications:

-Master’s degree in statistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field.

-Proficiency in R and/or Matlab

-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Required experience:

-R and/or Matlab: 1 year

-large-scale genomics: 1 year

-neuroimaging: 1 year

-developing and performing algorithms for data processing and: 1 year
