Job Description:
The New York, USA site is seeking a Scientist Computational Biology, reporting to the Senior Director CNS Pipeline.

The incumbent will be a key technical contributor in a dynamic and progressive team pioneering scaled manufacturing processes for the generation of therapeutic cells from pluripotent stem cells. Hands on experience in the development of mammalian cell culture methods and use execution of cell characterisation assays is essential. Familiarity with cGMP aseptic manufacturing requirements is a plus.

Position Description:

  • The Scientist Computational Biology will support other functional teams within the BlueRock R&D matrix with computational expertise. He/she will be tasked to stay abreast with the latest computational technology and apply cutting-edge computational algorithms to data sets generated to advance our understanding of the cell types developed.
  • Must be an innovative, data-driven scientist.
  • Hands-on work and strategic input into the research direction by interaction with the Senior Director, CNS.
  • Works with IT Consultant to acquire and maintain the necessary IT infrastructure.
  • Attend and present corporate/scientific information at appropriate and relevant conferences and symposia.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD. with 2+ years of industry experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Experience analyzing RNA sequencing and similar data sets
  • Background in data analysis and statistical modeling of biological data
  • Software development skills in bioinformatics, experience working with omics databases and networks.
  • Proficient in online, open source and proprietary software tools.
  • Effective communicator and leader with excellent organization skills
  • Motivated to build a culture of innovation with aspirations to develop products that will change the lives of people with serious diseases, their families and society
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, team player.
