Job Description:
The Eukaryotic Pathogen Database resource ( EuPathDB.org ) seeks to fill six positions in support of an expansion project in the areas of clinical and epidemiological data integration and mining. The goal of this exciting initiative is to leverage existing strengths in the integration and analysis of pathogen genomics and functional data to incorporate large global projects (such as Mal-ED) that focus on the interplay between early childhood malnutrition and enteric infectious disease burden in developing countries.

The Senior Project Coordinator will join a dynamic management team, and be responsible for coordinating all aspects of this clinical and epidemiological data integration project. The successful applicant will work closely within the existing EuPathDB managers and PIs to appropriately allocate resources and foster communication between our 30+ member team including biologists, annotators, data-loaders, ontologists, user-interface specialists & software developers, outreach staff, and others. They will work closely with project scientists and end users to make certain that requirements are accurately identified and specified, and with EuPathDB staff to facilitate communication, and ensure that commitments are achievable and delivered on time. The Senior Project Coordinator will prepare and submit all reports to the funders and others as required. Opportunities are available to participate in collaborative research, depending on expertise and interest of the individual.

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification required:

PhD in biostatatistics, epidemiology, bioinformatics or related field or MD with training and/or experience in clinical epidemiology, biostatistics or related area. Minimum of 5 years experience working with clinical epidemiology or related studies.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies required to successfully perform work:

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate with persons having diverse backgrounds are required. Solid understanding of genomics and bioinformatics concepts is required.

Physical Demands: The ability to sit or stand for long periods of time (Height adjustable desks provided). Ability to travel 2-5 days at a time.
