Job Description:
Varroa Project Lead for Chesterfield, MO to support product development for honey bee health & disease protection products; coordinate research strategies, laboratory experiments & honey bee field testing; identify & establish new experimental locations; meet product advancement guidelines; negotiate & forecast field trial budgets; select internal & external contractors; coordinate cross-functional stakeholders involved in product development; establish & maintain external scientific collaborations to advance bee health initiatives; support emerging honey bee health projects Requires Ph.D. in Zoology, Entomology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics or closely-related field & 2 yrs. experience conducting bee health research to support commercial product development for bee health products; supporting product registration processes with regulatory agencies for bee health products; managing commercial-scale bee hives in a controlled environment, including in greenhouses & free fly rooms; performing commercial-scale bee-keeping; coordinating product development budgets, timelines, deliverables, milestones & cross-functional project teams. Must also have published at least 3 first-author, peer-reviewed publications in Zoology, Entomology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics or closely-related field or delivered at least 3 presentations in said fields at scientific conferences. Up to 5% travel to US & Canada req'd for field testing.
