Illumina just finished upgrading our HiSeq to the 2500 Whoop! Quoted from the Illumina Website: “The HiSeq 2500 system features two run modes, rapid run and high output run mode, and the ability to process one or two flow cells simultaneously. This provides a flexible and scalable platform that supports the broadest range of applications and study sizes. No other system lets you perform so many applications so quickly and easily. Choose between rapid run and high output modes offering scalable output to fit your project needs…” It will now be possible to generate ~120 gigabases / day, with up to 150 paired-end.
