Job Description:
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Involved in the statistical and computational analysis of genomic data including, but not limited to, DNA microarrays, next-generation sequencing, and development of new tools for the analysis of gene expression data for University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Compile data for use in activities such as gene expression profiling, genome annotation, and structural bioinformatics; analyze large molecular datasets such as raw microarray data, genomic sequence data, and proteomics data for clinical or basic research purposes; and provide statistical and computational tools for biologically based activities such as genetic analysis, measurement of gene expression, and gene function determination.

Develop new software applications or customize existing applications to meet specific scientific project needs; create or modify web-based bioinformatics tools.
Develop data models and databases; using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, and/or process information.
