Job Description:
Join a dynamic team of scientists, bioinformaticians, usability specialists, and software engineers dedicated to improve genetic research. As Senior Scientist, Biomedical Genomics you will ensure scientific excellence of QIAGEN’s leading biomedical genomics software solutions and communicate the resulting advances to the scientific community. Serve as an internal domain expert in NGS applications for biomedical research, collaborating with marketing and product management. Responsibilities Include: -Design studies and benchmarks, analyze data, and disseminate the results as scientific marketing collateral, customer facing presentations, and scientific publications; -Disseminate the scientific excellence and benefits of our biomedical genomics solutions to field application Scientists, Sales team, and end users; -Contribute to marketing collateral strategy; -Provide scientific content to the Marketing team, and co-approve the final form of marketing collateral and publications; -Participate as needed in conferences, focus groups and user group meetings; -Support product management, Technical Product Owner and Software Developer teams with refining requirements for software products. Position Requirements: -PhD and minimum of 2 years of experience in human genomics or bioinformatics; -Experience in the analysis of next generation sequencing data and the detection and interpretation of genetic variants in a disease related context; -Track record in scientific writing, publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Alternatively, very experienced in the creation of scientific marketing collateral; -Strong command of English written and spoken; -Strong analytical skills. Personal Requirements: -Well connection to the international human genomics community; -Strong communication skills - enjoy and excel at public speaking and listening; -Ability to excel in highly skilled, diverse, culturally and geographically disparate cross-functional teams.
