It is a fantastic first step in a scientific career. Skills:
- PhD with a strong molecular biology background, preferably working in non-model organisms.
- Prior use of public domain bioinformatics tools and data is essential.
- Knowledge of NGS data is valuable, although expert NGS analysis expertise is not specifically required
- Experience of working with tools at the command line is preferred as is knowledge of R.
- High degree of verbal and written proficiency is essential as is the capability to communicate complex scientific concepts to others.
- Enthusiastic, keen and able to learn, with excellent analytical and problem solving skills and able to work well as part of a team.
- Own transport is preferred as the client site is not easily accessible by public transport
- Must have the right to work in the UK without the need for special VISA arrangements
