Job Description:
We are seeking a senior level bioinformatics scientist who is passionate about making real differences in the field of molecular diagnostics and is enthusiastic about working in an exciting startup environment. This position will lead the effort to (1) improve primer design algorithm and pipeline for multiplex PCR based target enrichment assays; (2) perform custom assay designs; (3) design diagnostics panels; (4) improve NGS data analysis algorithm and pipeline; (5) analyze NGS data to facilitate research and development effort of the company; (6) troubleshoot customer NGS data. This position requires a person with strong commitment to science and technology and with demonstrated knowledge in genomics, bioinformatics, statistics, and programing. - Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics or related fields.
- 3+ years of industrial working experience.
- Solid background on genomics and molecular biology.
- Experience with PCR assay design.
- Extensive experience with NGS variant calling algorithm development.
- Extensive experience with NGS data analysis pipeline development.
- Strong proficiency with python, perl, shell scripting and R.
- Familiarity with parallel computing, database, and Amazon Web Services.
- Experience on technical communication with customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
