Currently there is the opportunity to join our team as a PhD student (m/f) – in Imaging Mass spectrometry 2017/0324 - Working in a scientific project funded by the German research Foundation (DFG) with the focus on investigation of therapy prediction of cancer - Applying high resolution imaging mass spectrometry (MALDI TOF IMS und MALDI FTMS IMS) of tissues - Focus on in situ melabolomic analysis Your Qualifications: - Degree (Master, Diplom) in biology, pharmacy, chemistry, biochemistry, bioinformatics or related fields - Highest scientific interest and motivation to learn sophisticated, new methods - Strong background in life science - Highly motivated and team oriented - Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills - Preferable: Experience in Mass Spectrometry and bioinformatics

The Research Unit Analytical Pathology at Helmholtz Center Munich, performs translational research in the field of diseases manifesting in tissues with the focus on innovative MALDI Imaging / Drug Imaging techniques. With regard to personalized medicine we specifically work on identifying new biomarkers and therapeutic targets and improving the histological and pharmacological analysis of healthy, predisposed or pathological altered tissues.
