Job Description:
A Postdoctoral position in Systems Biology is available at the IBM Translational Systems Biology Group, to work at both the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai under the supervision of Dr. G. Stolovitzky. We are looking for a researcher with a PhD in Computational Systems Biology or related field, a proven publication record, clear communication skills and who naturally gravitates towards collaborative work. The successful candidate should have a background in biology as well as quantitative and programming skills. Previous postdoctoral experience is a big plus. Proven experience in the analysis of transcriptomics data (RNA-seq and gene expression arrays), transcriptional and signaling network reconstruction, systems biology of cancer and statistics are essential. Experience in at least one of the following fields is required: dynamical systems, promoter/enhancer analyses, epigenomics, Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS), DNA-seq, ChIP-seq, proteomics, machine learning, high performance computing and big data analytics. The work will include one or more of the following tasks: analysis of transcriptomics data to understand the molecular basis of synergistic drug activity, the modeling of biological processes at the single cell level and the organization of Dialogue on Reverse Engineering Assessment and Methods (DREAM) challenges. The successful candidate will be compensated with a very competitive salary. Candidates are encouraged to submit the application as soon as possible. Required
