The Bioinformatics Scientist will hold a Secret security clearance and work in a team using proteomics for U.S. Army research. Research efforts will include the development and optimization of tools/processes for proteomic analysis. All work will be conducted within a DoD facility. Responsibilities:
- Support research efforts with Government scientists and follow safety and quality requirements in the lab
- Collect, organize, and process proteomics data to provide information to support chemical and biological warfare agent detection and identification
- Must be a U.S. citizen with at least a Secret security clearance
- BS in bioinformatics, advanced information technology, biology or related field required, MS preferred, with 5 years of related laboratory experience
- Must have at least 3 years of experience performing proteomic informatics and algorithm development
- Experience with the entire proteomics research process including development and curation of a proteins sequences data-warehouse, bioinformatics application pipeline development, data reduction, and multivariate analysis
- Proficient with databases such as mongoDB and relevant software e.g. C++
- Must have strong organizational, multi-tasking, troubleshooting, and communication skills
