The scientific focus for this position is on mathematical modeling, analysis and optimization, for applications in the area of systems biology. Description
PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a closely related subject area. Demonstrated research excellence in Mathematical Systems Biology and preferably in at least one of above mentioned topics of particular relevance. Interest in both theory and real-world applications (such as bioinformatics). Team spirit. Ability to take initiatives. Experienced in giving lectures at (inter)national conferences and/or classes at the bachelor and master levels. Experience in research funding acquisition is appreciated.Benefits
The position is initially offered for a two-year period and, subject to evaluation, is eligible for extension. Salary is competitive, depending on qualifications and work experience. The salary will be set in salary scale 11 or 12 (with possible preliminary scale) of the collective labour agreement of the Dutch Universities (minimum € 3259.00 and maximum € 5070) for a full-time job (38 hours/week). On top of this, there is an 8% holiday and an 8.3% year-end allowance. Non-Dutch applicants could be eligible for a favorable tax treatment (30% rule).
