We are seeking a candidate with strong analytical skills to help us both demonstrate and further develop the utility of the Locus economic framework in data analysis. Responsibilities and Duties: As part of our team, the candidate will build tools using census, labor and company information, that enable small companies and local governments to better understand their place in the vast economic system. The candidate will help build targeted predictive and descriptive algorithms that help these organizations make decisions. Strong candidates will be proficient in a general purpose programming language and possess a solid understanding of statistics. They will be able to integrate data from many sources of various types, and have a strong aptitude for giving structure to these multi-attribute data so that they can tell clear, compelling stories. They can also communicate complex ideas and discoveries through simple and creative visualizations. No prior experience with economic data is necessary, but experience in experimental design is a plus.

Qualifications and Skills
We welcome candidates in their final year of academic study as well as postgraduate, professional, postdoctoral, and faculty applicants. < Minimum Requirements:- A degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, bioinformatics, computational neuroscience, software engineering or related fields
- Strong communication skills and an interest in working in an interdisciplinary environment
- Strong quantitative skills
- Demonstrable skill in general purpose programming language (e.g. Python, C++, Java, etc.)
- Experience in building software tools in a highly collaborative environment
- Experience in machine learning and/or predictive analytics
