Job Description:
SanBio is seeking a talented Scientist II to play an important role in the company’s research programs. This position will work with a small team of dedicated neuro- and cell biologists to generate gene expression profiling data instrumental in characterizing the company’s regenerative cell-based product, as well as in discovering its mechanisms of action.

This position is expected to possess strong quantitative and analytical background, and demonstrate an experience with next generation RNA sequencing and the use of commercial and open-source bioinformatics software and open-source databases. At the same time, this position should possess a hands-on laboratory experience and familiarity with classical molecular biology techniques (such as RNA, DNA purification and quantification, tissue or cell sample preparation, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, etc).

Familiarity with laser capture microdissection and/or single cell transcriptome analysis to allow spatial transcriptomic analysis to bridge in vivo and in vitro findings and assess global transcriptome changes at specific tissue locations is preferable; neurobiology knowledge is a plus.

Independence, leadership, creativity, sharing and discussing ideas, strong analytical skills, and attention to details are expected.

The incumbent in this position will be responsible for generating global gene expression data, conducting data mining, building the database, interpreting results, designing and conducting follow up studies, monitoring scientific literature and bringing new technologies in house, as well as communicating findings to the team.

PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
