Our team needs hands-on engineers who can produce beautiful & functional code to develop software solutions that solve complex healthcare transformations facing payers and providers. If you are an exceptional developer with an aptitude to learn and implement using new technologies, and who loves to push the boundaries to solve complex business problems innovatively, then we want to talk with you. As a Senior Full Stack Web Engineer at Payformance Solutions, you will have the opportunity to make mission critical software and web development contributions. You’ll have a voice in driving the direction and strategy of the company, and work in an agile environment alongside a rapidly growing team of Engineers, Data Architects, Analysts, and Health Policy Experts in our Chicago, IL office.

What you’ll do:

  • You are a Sr. Full-stack Engineer that is passionate about technology that solves problems. You’ll work with all aspects of Platform and Product Development. Collaborating with all stakeholders, including Hardware, Design Engineering and Content teams to build intuitive services that drive impact and action to save lives. As the Sr. Full-Stack Engineer, it’s essential that you leverage technology based on the problems we are solving.
  • You have a passion for bringing people, data, and solutions together and thrive in a culture of innovation. You are excited by the prospect of building a product and platform that is technology agnostic and services millions of devices. You want to build things that matter.
  • The Full Stack Software Engineer will develop, write and test code within an Agile development environment. The breadth of development includes the full stack, user interface (UI), middleware and backend layers. This position will collaborate and work closely with co-workers to develop new and enhanced consumer-facing products and product features.
  • Develop, write and test high quality code that supports new and existing applications
  • Collaborate with a team comprised of both technical and non-technical members in support of development projects
  • Participate in Agile sprint planning and code reviews
  • Innovate software development processes and end user products with a focus on enhancing the customer experience and/or business growth opportunities

Qualifications

Qualifications: What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and whiteboarding skills.
  • BS (Masters or PhD preferred) degree in relevant disciplines: Bioinformatics, Medical Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research/ Optimization, Computer Science, Computational/ Theoretical Physics, Data Science, or Electrical/ Computer Engineering.
  • Knowledge of working within cloud hosting environments (AWS preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years with a full stack engineering experience preferably in C/C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, and Python
  • Working with both SQL and NoSQL databases such MySQL and MongoDB
  • An obsession with writing high quality, test covered code with a healthy balance of test-driven development and continuous integration (GitHub, JIRA, Jenkins) in an agile, sprint based environment
  • Evidence of exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-scale web application (e.g., well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms)
  • Engineers who have experience with web best practices such as A/B testing, test coverage
  • Experience working in Linux/Unix environment
  • Interfacing with web services and 3rd party APIs (e.g., RESTFUL)
  • A desire to write metrics-driven code that will be measured post deployment as part of the dev cycle using frameworks such as Redshift
  • Open source contributions a big plus
