We are looking for a person with extensive knowledge and experience processing biological datasets. A person familiar with existing well-known sources, and an interest in monitoring the community for new sources that can utilized to broaden our understanding of molecular processes. The new team member should enjoy working in a highly motivated, collaborative environment with other scientists and developers who are passionate about the field.
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
- Degree in Bioinformatics or Biology Sciences with extensive background and experience working with biological data and annotations.
- 3+ years experience in industry integrating and managing large biological data sets.
- Extensive background using scripting languages for data processing and analysis (preferably Perl)
- Experince working with relational database schema design and systematic update strategies.
- Extensive experience with SQL (e.g. MySQL, Postgres).
- Familiarity with well known biological datasets (e.g 1000 genome, Ensambl, UMLS, COSMIC)
- Experience working with clinical trial data.
- Knowledge of data mining and statistics.
