We are seeking a motivated individual who desire to be part of a dynamic, fast growing and diverse team in a molecular genetics lab to support the crop breeding program at Advanta Seeds.
- Identify, develop and validate genome-wide and trait-associated molecular markers for core crops in Advanta Seeds.
- Perform map construction and genetic mapping of important traits in core crops.
- Perform genotyping jobs and other molecular lab tasks in a timely manner.
- Integrate the genotypic and molecular data into database.
- Accurately and timely document the experiments and results, write reports and present the results to internal and external audience.
- Help the senior scientists manage the projects and the lab.
- Ensure workplace safety, and effectively and timely communicate with senior scientists the issues/hurdles in projects and in lab.
- Train temporary workers and other lab technicians as needed.
- A M. Sc. degree in Genetics, Genomics, Molecular Biology, Molecular Breeding, Molecular Biology or other related fields.
- Proactive, self-motivated and self-driven person with high accountability.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to track, prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet the timeline.
- Experience and knowledge in DNA extraction, real-time and quantitative PCR, sequencing and other routine molecular lab skills.
- Experience and knowledge in molecular marker development and genotyping, genetic mapping and molecular breeding.
- Experience and knowledge in basic bioinformatic and statistics analysis.
- Industry experience with lab automation is a plus.
