Job Description:
Applicants are invited to apply for the Assistant Professor Research (non-tenure track) position in the area of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics in the Department of Computer Science. The successful applicant will work closely with faculty and researchers from Wayne State's School of Medicine and the Perinatology Research Branch of the NIH, located in Detroit. Develop new methods for the analysis of biological data, analyze such data, publish scientific papers reporting new methods and/or new discoveries, as well as prepare research proposals for agencies such as NSF and NIH. Unique Duties Qualifications: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics or a closely related field and to demonstrate potential for excellence in research. Previous experience and track record are required in the analysis of high throughput data including pathway analysis, meta-analysis, data integration, analysis of next-generation sequencing data, single cell data analysis and other related areas. Excellent knowledge of R will be a plus.
