Smith College is accepting applications for a Research Associate to asist the Filarial Research Reagent Repository (FR3) in molecular biology and bioinformatics. The focus will be on RNAseq and metagenomic-focused bioinformatics.  This is a limited term, funded through 8/31/2015 with potential for extension contingent on future grant funding. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Metagenomics and associated bioinformatics; RNAseq experiments and associated bioinformatics; and assist with the NIH/NIAID Filariasis Research Reagent Repository (FR3) to establish new molecular resources for the filariasis research community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biology, Biochemistry or a closely related field with expertise and a strong interest in bioinformatics, PhD preferred.

Skills: Experience with bioinformatics and molecular biology techniques is strongly preferred. Good organizational skills are required.
