Stratos Genomics is an exciting biotech company developing the next generation of DNA sequencing technology. We are searching for an experienced bioinformatics software engineer to help develop algorithms, processes, and data analysis tools for real time sequencing systems. The Bioinformatics Engineer will work directly with founding Technical and Scientific Officers, Scientists, and Research Associates in a dynamic start-up biotech environment. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- PhD, MS or BS.
- Strong background in bioinformatics with an emphasis on genomics
- > 3 years software programming experience in data analysis.
- Understanding of software design process (e.g. architecture, version control, testing, etc.).
- Working knowledge of statistical methods.
- Assist in the planning, design and coding of software and data flow architectures for high throughput real time molecular measurements.
- Design, implementation and maintenance of data analysis tools and data reduction algorithms based upon application requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining software version control and well documented code.
- Regular progress updates.
- Adhere to Stratos’ policies and support management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner
- Working knowledge of genomics.
- Solid programming skills (Matlab experience preferred)
- Algorithm development
- Data analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all organization levels
