We're looking for a Data Scientist specializing in Machine Learning to be part of our search team and help us match job seekers with great opportunities. You will create predictive models, extract insights from data, find patterns in human behavior, and use your analytical skills to take our search product to the next level.
Key Responsibilities:
Create predictive models to estimate user engagement on job listings
Create personalized recommendations for various types of content using content similarity and collaborative filtering based on user behavior
Improve relevance ranking for job listings within search
Increase user engagement and search revenue
Work with software engineers to put predictive models in production
Key Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms for regression, classification, and clustering
Hands-on experience analyzing large data sets - how do you define big data?
Hands-on experience using structured and unstructured data, ideally in a HDFS-based store using some variation of MapReduce, Hive, Pig, or a SQL interface
Proficient in Python or R. Coding in C, C++ or Java is a strong plus.
Familiar with A/B testing methodology and test analysis
Familiar with classical statistics and time series analysis
Agile, action-oriented, quick thinker: you can deliver preliminary results fast by making simplifying assumptions, and take time to dive deeper if our business priorities allow and if the problem demands more scientific rigor
M.S. or Ph.D. in one of the following: Computer Science (with focus on artificial intelligence, data mining, or machine learning), Astrophysics, Bioinformatics, Economics, Mathematics, Neuroscience, Particle Physics, Quantitative Finance, Statistics, or another quantitative scientific field
