Job Description:
We are looking for a Data Analyst for our Bioinformatics and Data Analysis group who will report to the Manager of the Production Analysis Pipelines and be responsible for all aspects of data production and analysis on the Pacific Biosciences (PacBio RS) sequencer. The Data Analyst will:
• Collaborate with LIMS and laboratory specialists to deliver high-quality production data in a timely fashion.
• Track sample metadata, and deliver data in a high-throughput production environment.
• Provide bioinformatics support for routine sequencer maintenance and upgrades.
• Work with the sequencing vendor and the Production Manager to quickly resolve instrument problems.
• Maintain accurate sample and sequence analysis records in our LIMS.
• Implement standard operating procedures to maintain stringent performance requirements, including throughput and quality metrics.
Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in computer science, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a life science and 2+ years of experience in a next-generation sequencing lab.
• Interest and ability with new Technolgies and Software packages
• Experience providing analysis support for PacBio sequence data production Preferred
• Experience with SMRT Portal, and other PacBio data analysis tools Preferred
• Familiarity with standard molecular biology and NGS library techniques
• Experience with data/LIMS integration for metadata capture and tracking
• Script and software development experience to support NGS data analysis
