Potential applicants who share this goal, especially underrepresented minorities, women and persons with disabilities, are strongly encouraged to apply. We are seeking senior- and mid-career biomedical engineers who have demonstrated exceptional records in funded research programs and success with integrating teaching, research, and service. Specific areas of interest include bioprinting, biomaterials, biomanufacturing, biomedical devices, stem cell engineering, computational or synthetic biology, and neuroprosthetics. The candidate will be expected to lead efforts to broaden the university's Road Map Initiative in the Transdisciplinary Area of Excellence in Health Science.

The candidate will also have an opportunity to contribute to the development of the School of Pharmacy, one of the major goals of the BU 2020 Road Map. The candidate will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses in biomedical engineering. The candidate will be expected to help increase the number of women, underrepresented minorities and persons with disabilities, as well as help increase external funding to support diverse populations. The Department is particularly strong in advanced biomanufacturing, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, nanomedicine, cardiovascular engineering, biomaterials, and computational biology.
