Job Description:
A postdoctoral position in systems biology is available at the IBM Translational Systems Biology Group, to work at both the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai under the supervision of Dr. G. Stolovitzky. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative researcher with a PhD in Computational Systems Biology or related field, a strong publication record, excellent communication skills and who naturally gravitates towards collaborative work. The successful candidate should have a strong background in biology and outstanding quantitative and programming skills. Previous postdoctoral experience is a big plus. Proven experience in the analysis of transcriptomics data (RNA-seq and gene expression arrays), transcriptional or signaling network reconstruction, systems biology of cancer, and statistics are essential. Experience in at least one of the following fields is required: dynamical systems, promoter/enhancer analyses, epigenomics, GWAS, DNA-seq, ChIP-seq, proteomics, machine learning, high performance computing and big data analytics. The work will include one or more of the following tasks: analysis of transcriptomics time-trace data to understand the molecular basis of synergistic drug activity, the modeling of biological processes at the single cell level and the organization of DREAM challenges. The successful candidate will be compensated with a very competitive salary.
