Job Description:
You will develop the computational foundations of a novel mass-spectrometry and NMR-spectroscopy based drug discovery and metabolome analysis platform. You will work closely with domain experts to understand the data and its particular problems. You will evaluate the applicability of your computational developments in a real laboratory setting. You will collaborate with researchers in different disciplines (from computational sciences to life sciences) within a large consortium.
Your profile:
Master in bioinformatics, (bio-)statistics, chemoinformatics or equivalent, with outstanding study results
You have a strong quantitative background, in particular in (multivariate) statistics, machine learning and data mining techniques, and you are proficient with one or more programming languages (Python, Java, C++, …) and statistical / mathematical software (R, Matlab)
Being familiar with mass spectrometry, NMR, chromatography data is a strong plus
You are fluent in interdisciplinary English communication, quality-oriented and creative, and eager to emerge in new scientific disciplines.
