Job Description:

A postdoctoral research position is available in the Center for Nuclear Receptors and Cell Signaling (CNRCS) at the University of Houston (UH). CNRCS is the centerpiece of the university's tier-one biomedical research initiative and is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories. The successful candidate will study mechanisms by which hormone receptors regulate human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated cancers and HPV gene expression using genetically modified mouse models (GEMMs), orthotopic xenograft mouse models, cell models, genomics, and pharmacological approaches. A candidate who has extensive experience with GEMMs and/or genomics/bioinformatics is strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants with other expertise will be also considered. Duties of the successful candidate will include, but not limited to, (1) to design and perform experiments, analyze data, and write manuscripts for publication; (2) to contribute to training graduate and undergraduate research assistants; and (3) to develop understanding and skills to allow for pursuance of research that crosses fields of specialization. The successful candidate will have opportunities to work with collaborators in UH, Texas Medical Center, and other national/international institutions.
